What do we offer on Sunday Mornings?
Crossroads focuses on small groups throughout the week to provide our
main source of Bible study, fellowship, and accountability. However, we
do provide Bible study based classes, discussion groups, and fellowship
groups on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00.
Visit our page on Sunday Mornings for more
information on service times and other Sunday morning opportunities.
Does Crossroads have Sunday School?
Yes! We offer options for the whole family
at 9:30 and 11:00.
Check
out our current Sunday School classes and our approach to Sunday School or visit the Welcome Center in the front
lobby for more information.
Where do I find information on upcoming events?
All the activities, special events, small groups, and classes can be overwhelming
to keep up with. We provide an online calendar, have a weekly listing
in our Sunday morning bulletin, and have the most current information
at the Welcome Center in the front lobby or the information tables in
the Great Room.
Why do we have so many pastors? With so many pastors which one "can
I go to" for help?
The purpose in having a variety of Pastors is to provide the best care
possible for each member of Crossroads Fellowship. We are a large, diverse,
active church, and our pastors are generally assigned to either a church-wide
function or demographic target (e.g., new visitors, young families, worship
team, missions, children) in order to provide care, oversight, and
growth for all the primary areas of our ministry.
Visit the listing of our pastoral team
Although each pastor has certain areas of expertise and natural talents,
all our pastors can perform baptisms, marriage ceremonies, and funeral
services. Feel free to contact any pastor at Crossroads. The pastor or
assistant you call may refer you to another person if they know or feel
that he or she would be better able to serve your request.
Does Crossroads provide counseling?
Crossroads does provide short-term pastoral counseling. We have pastors
responsible for each demographic within our church. Call 981-0222 and
an assistant will help determine the appropriate pastor who would be able
to help, assist or provide short-term pastoral counseling that would best
meet your needs. Additionally, we offer support groups, special classes
and referrals to private practice Christian counselors in the community.
How do I get involved in a small group?
Fill out and drop off a Connection Card at the small group table in
our Grand Hallway, or complete the online version of
the card.
We also offer small
group finder classes and have displays for all of our ministries in the
Grand Hallway on Sunday mornings to help you locate the most appropriate group to join. Small groups tend to start in September
and January but you are usually able to join a group at any time.
Who can be a small group leader or teacher? How do I become a small
group leader/teacher?
We believe anyone with a speaking or leadership gift, who is well-established
in the Word of God, committed to Crossroads, accountable to its elders and pastors, and who feels pulled to lead a
small group would make an good small group leader. We have annual
training for new and returning group leaders every August.
Fill out our online Connection Form if you are
interested in learning more about becoming a small group leader.
What do you offer during the week?
We offer a variety of classes and activities for all ages throughout the week. Please pick-up a catalog from either of our Welcome Centers, for further information on all of the events we offer. Please note that during the summer, we offer an abbreviated schedule of events, while during the Fall and Spring, our church is much more active.
What does interdenominational mean?
Crossroads is an elder-led church without any formal ties to denominational
bodies. Our members come from a variety of denominations and unchurched backgrounds. Although we appreciate the variety and uniqueness
that each denomination offers, the emphasis of Crossroads is
on the basic doctrines and practices of biblical, evangelical Christianity.
Please visit our About Us page to read our
mission and value statements. If you have any additional questions about
our mission statement please e-mail info@crossroads.org.
What is the role of your elders?
The congregation nominates elders at Crossroads. Elders form a representative
body that serves as the directional leadership of the church. They approve
all budget, staffing, and other major decisions for the church. The elders
protect the workings of the church by providing accountability and overall
direction. Our staff and elders seek to be very closely connected as partners
in leadership.
Why did you buy a warehouse instead of building a more traditional church facility?
God made this warehouse available to us for a good price and it allows for the incremental building out of the facility. For instance, we were able to renovate our former
children's area, turn it into an Adult Ministries wing, build a new 20,000 square-foot children's area and a 5,000 square foot Student Center -- all as the needs of the body grew. We also enjoy welcoming
entry ways, hallways that provide space for conversation and fellowship, and
a kitchen for preparing meals. We look forward to adding a gym when God provides the funds.
Who can become a member of Crossroads Fellowship?
At the end of any of the worship services, anyone may walk forward to
indicate a desire to join Crossroads Fellowship. Adults need to complete
a membership class, and then will be presented to the congregation and
asked to take vows of membership. Children under age 14 whose parents
are members have all privileges of membership.
How do I become a member?
1. Go forward at the close of any Sunday morning service and pick up a
membership packet from a counselor. You will automatically be enrolled
in the next available class.
2. Complete the Discovery (membership) class and indicate your desire
to become a member. You may attend the class without becoming a member,
but you cannot become a member without attending and completing the class
process.
3. Repeat the membership vows before the congregation on the designated
Sunday with your fellow Discovery Class members.
Do you have to be a member to join a small group or volunteer?
No. Anyone may be an active participant in a Crossroads small group or
ministry. We do ask Small Group Leaders to be members of Crossroads Fellowship.
