S.T.A.R. Ministry
is a “Special Time Activity Room” that serves many purposes. It is a place where a transition can occur for a new family (or visitor) who has a child with special needs. It is also a place where we can get to know the child and how to best meet his or her needs.
The S.T.A.R. also serves as a respite for children who have special needs and attend Sunday School during one service but need some down time for the other. It's also designed to be a resource for children who are attending Sunday School but may need a sensory break or other support. Shadow training and support also takes place here as well as reverse inclusion with peer buddies.
